City of Ottawa Announces Scott Snethen as Director of Utilities

The City of Ottawa is pleased to announce the promotion of Scott Snethen to the position of Director of Utilities, effective immediately.


Scott Snethen has been a key member of the City of Ottawa’s leadership team since his appointment as Superintendent of Utilities for Water Production on December 16, 2017. Mr. Snethen was promoted to the position of Assistant Utilities Director – Water Division in February 2024. His exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to service excellence have been instrumental in enhancing the operations and performance of the Utilities Department.


As Director of Utilities, Scott will oversee all aspects of the Utilities Department, including water, wastewater, and electric operations. His responsibilities include providing strategic direction, fostering a culture of innovation and service excellence, and ensuring alignment with the City’s mission and strategic objectives.


“Scott has demonstrated a remarkable ability to lead and innovate within our Utilities Department,” said City Manager Brian Silcott. “His dedication and expertise have already made a lasting impact, and I am confident that his vision and leadership will continue to enhance the quality of service we provide to our community.”
