Is the summer heat keeping you inside? Don’t let the dog days of summer curtail your fun. Plan to attend a free Summer Community Health Festival for the entire family on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held adjacent to Health Partnership Clinic (HPC) in the City Parking Lot at the corner of E. 1st St. and S. Hickory St. in Ottawa. A free lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Part of the festivities will include mobile mammography, breast health information and a Clinic Day for adolescent and pediatric-aged members of Amerigroup, Sunflower Health and UnitedHealthcare.

Mobile Mammography, outside of clinic (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Free Breast Cancer screening mammograms are available for new and current low-income patients. Mobile mammograms provided by Diagnostic Imaging Centers. Limited appointments.

Clinic Day at HPC, 107 S. Main St., (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

This is for Amerigroup, Sunflower Health and UnitedHealthcare adolescent and pediatric-aged members only. Catch up on free services like immunizations, well-child exams, and dental screenings/fluoride treatments all while enjoying the fun!

To schedule a mammogram or clinic day appointment on July 20, call 913-401-2750.

Other event highlights include a special appearance by KC Royal’s Sluggerrr (12 to 2 p.m.), various kid activities, a DJ, photo booth, health, wellness and community information, door prizes and giveaways.

According to event coordinator Catherine Rice, HPC’s Vice President of Marketing and Outreach, the event is targeted to moms, caregivers and their children. “It’s so important that moms put their health first and get that life-saving mammogram and learn about breast health and cancer prevention. In addition, we’ve planned several kid-friendly activities including crafts, tattoos, an inflatable obstacle course, the imagination playground and a fire truck.”

Rice added that the event provides an excellent opportunity for the community to learn more about HPC and the services it offers. The clinic is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 107 S. Main St., in downtown Ottawa.
